Ignite PhoenixIgnite Phoenix is back on March 30th at the Mesa Arts Center and this evenings lineup is one of the best yet.  For those who are unfamiliar, Ignite Phoenix was voted “Best Bite-Size Lecture Series 2009″ by the Phoenix New Times, and consists of 18 five minute presentations where speakers talk about their favorite topic or new project.  Ignite #6 will include presentations that are sure to get you thinking, including “Eat Better, Be Better”, and “The Greatest American Who Ever Lived.”  Other presentations that might tickle your funny bone include “How Improv May (Or May Not) Save The World”, “Your Office Coffee Sucks”, and “Nachos: A Metaphysical Journey”.  As a local event, they are very passionate about connecting with the Phoenix community, and the Arkayne team is happy to help them socialize their website and keep them connected to the local community.  Tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 13th) and will probably sell out again so make sure you pick your up at IgnitePhoenix.com.

The Arkayne team caught up with local Phoenix blogger Tyler Hurst of tdhurst.com today to grab some lunch and conclude the iPod giveaway. Notice the custom Arkayne wrapping paper! We met at the Arkayne office and after a quick tour headed to Earls in Scottsdale.

Or simply put, ShopIgniter allows your business to live within Facebook and Twitter.

In addition, Madrona partner and former Yahoo! VP Matt Compton is grabbing the reigns as CEO of the startup. Madrona Managing Partner, Tom Alberg, who also sits on Amazon’s board of directors, will take a seat on ShopIgnite’s board.

The company’s platform allows retailers, wholesalers and brands to merchandise products on Facebook and hunt for customers on Twitter, as well as manage their online store functionality through a straightforward dashboard. ShopIgnite claims that its services boost online sales by as much as 30%.

In other funding news, interactive marketing software developer Arkayne scooped up more than $1 million in an initial round of Angel funding. The company’s Plugin SaaS offering links site visitors from one page to others within a single site or customer-designated network of sites by displaying relevant links. Arkayne will launch another product in the spring as well as an upgrade for Plugin.
